For all you curious Christians out there, "The Secret" is nothing more than a New Age "Prayer of Jabez". The Bible continues to endure long after these other teachings lose their lustre. If you are a follower of Christ, you owe it to yourself to be informed about "The Secret" but please understand that there is NOTHING "Christian" about it. It is New Age self-help at it's very worst and tries to convince us that we are God. Their so-called "Religious Expert" is a leader in the church of New Thought, which is a little-known cult in the New Age Movement. Does any follower of Christ have any business messing around with "The Secret"?
<br />
<br />"And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom all that is done under heaven. It is an unhappy business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind." Ecclesiastes 1:13-14

Those of you who have preconceived notions about this story because you've seen the Hollywood film versions, read this book. You'll be pleasantly surprised. I guarantee it. This is nothing like the film and so much better. Shelley, in her brilliance, offers the hideous creature as the one to pity here. Not Frankenstein, not the townspeople, but the creature. A sad victim of his creator's selfish ambitions and the prejudices of a naive populace. In a way, a neglected and abused child, driven to acts of violence and rage as the only release from the agonizing rejection and isolation. His only real crime was his consuming need for acceptance...a friend...to love and be loved. This book was so ahead of its time when it was written. I highly recommend it. One of my favorites.

I purchased this for my husband because he's going through a bunch of the classics and re-reading them. This book was easy to find and very affordable.

It is rather amazing to find such an almost unanimous score of 5 for any album. Granted the album is not bad and interesting at times but to me it seems way over-produced and whatever the qualities of Janelle may be they seem to get lost in the whole massively overproduced shebang. I can understand that some could love it but quasi-unanimity? When is the last time this occurs? Myself, while recognizing some interest in the album, I will be a little skeptical and wonder if Mr. Combs did not mobilize a bunch of his people to drum up the beat (after having done so in the Newsweek article). Sorry byt I need more than a reference to Metropolis and Fritz Lang to be convinced...The ArchAndroid

I would like to correct a few points from the previous review. Christians DO NOT believe they have to earn God's favor we know better. We are also most definitely separated from God and have been since the Garden of Eden. There is no way possible you could EVER do enough good works to earn your way to Heaven. God is holy therefore He cannot allow sin into heaven and if you don't think you sin than read this: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23
<br />There is no "Secret" beloved except that Satan wonders to and fro seeking whom he can devour and he DOES NOT want you to know this. The only way to heaven and everlasting life is to: "Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and YOU WILL BE SAVED!" -Romans 10:9
<br />You can not earn this by good works and no one else can do it for you. The Bible says in Ephesians "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast."
<br />To be saved all you have to do is believe that Jesus is the son of God and that God did raise Him from the dead and you will be saved. I've given you the formula if you are ready to accept Jesus into your life as your personal Lord and Savior simply say this prayer and mean it from the bottom of your heart: God I've really made a mess of things and I'm sorry for all the wrong I've done. I believe Jesus is your Son and I also believe that You raised Him from the dead. Come into my life now and stay with me forever. AMEN
<br />Really what do you have to lose by checking this out? If you're right I haven't lost anything but if I'm right you've lost eternal life and heaven. But believe me beloved this dvd is a lie straight from Satan and he will destroy you.

Okay, you cant send this cd back. I was told that if I liked Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott and Eryckah Badu that I had to have Janelle Monae. AND WHY? There is nothing neo soul about this artist. This sounds like a bunch of weird sounds and bs. I am not feeling it. I am really disappointed. I bought the cd and have not listened to it since the painful first 2 times trying to feel it. I wanted so bad to hear what all the 5 star people heard but I felt like I was listening to something out of back to the future. The most interesting part of the cd was the jacket that tells the story of her being from another time. I do not know if it is great marketing or a ploy or the truth or a attempt to be but real talk, NO SONG IS GOOD. This cd made me start previewing music before I buy it. Don't get tricked.

Let's face it. The Order of the Phoenix movie left out a ton of good stuff. I just hope they do a lot better with this one. It is my favorite book of the series and would hate to see it messed up on the big screen, especially the ending. Judging from the teaser trailer and pictures that have been released, it looks like a great movie. I'll be counting down the days until July 17.

If i could give it Zero rating I would, just do not get this person. Strange, but the music is terrible to me. Maybe I need to listen to the mess again. No, I listen to it 3 times and Can not stand her CD. Advise to her is to find out what kind of music you want to and stick to it, but you are not R&B.

Yo, this album is cool & all But Beyonce had one of the best albums of all time!! This is too Funky, Mellow, Weird & Monotonous for me. Its a decent effort but I want music that gives me life & makes me Feel & connect inside my own world, not take me to a completely different galaxy!, this is a realm that I'm not too familiar with. I need something I can confidently blast on the Radio & enjoy. I'm used to more mainstream music so Ill have to grow to love this style more. I really didn't notice a whole lot of Genre hopping, It's more so settle, there's alternative Soul, Classical/Theater/Thematics, Rock, jazzy Hip hop & hints of R&B throughout, very fluent though. Honestly, The Only songs I really like is "Deep Cotton", "Dance Or Die", & "Cold War"; & maybe bits & pieces of a couple other tracks but thats it. Even so, this is much better than that Sade's boring quite storm mess though. Just weird & what are some of these songs even about anyway??. Overall, because I look at everything when writing a review Ill still give this a 6 out of 10.
<br />
<br />Update: I'm not gonna call this Over Rated but This isn't for everyone. The great reviews(which is why I'm here) can be mis leading, Whether you like this or not truly depends entirely on your overall musical taste.
<br />
<br />& Please forgive me, I'm just a little pressed because Beyonce never got the praise that she deserved for any of her albums. Just because her music is more Commercial doesn't make it any less great...
